Risks Of Harm or Risks Of Harm Specific To Cycling means for the Civil Liability Act one of the Three Types of Risks which can result in Harm Suffered to a participant(s)/Invitee(s) in a Recreational Activity.

Examples of Risks Of Harm for Recreational Road Cycling include -

(a)        cycling into a pothole and suffering a serious trauma injury or death; or

(b)        being hit by a car or another cyclist and suffering a serious trauma injury or death; or

(c)        getting a wheel caught in a gap in a timber bridge and suffering a serious trauma injury or death; or

(d)        cycling onto or from the metal ramp of a ferry and slipping on a wet metal protruding girder and suffering a serious trauma injury or death; or

(e)        cycling over a railway level crossing and suffering a serious trauma injury or death;

(f)         not hold third party public liability insurance cover (included within annual membership of Bicycle NSW) as a Green Slip third party personal insurance does not cover a cyclist's negligence whilst cycling a bicycle; or

(g)        not hold Income Protection insurance if self-employed and being materially out of pocket.
