For 364¾ days each year motor vehicles drive Nth East to the city on this section of the Western Distributor.  However, for the Spring Cycle, the the Western Distributor is closed to motor vehicles, and cyclists ride South West along this section of the the Western Distributor.  Cyclists ride on the roadway, not the cycle footpath evident on the RHS of the above and below pics.
