*  8:20am Hornsby 125km - ETR Hornsby 4pm
*  8:40am Berowra 103km - ETR Berowra 3:10pm

Or turnaround at Mt White - 71km round trip from Hornsby - ETR 11:30am

  • Train departs Hornsby at 8:30am which arrives Berowra at 8:42am, passing Milsons Point 7:23am, Chatswood 7:36am, Turra' 7:50am

  • If driving to Berowra, take 2nd off-road from Freeway

1st Leg: Hornsby to Mt White Bikie Hangout - 35.5km - 87 min

Park in Jersey St Hornsby street-side car-park 80m Nth of Railway Hotel - N/W side of Hornsby station. 

Rollout by 8:20am, -

  • N up Jersey St  for 200m,

  • L for 20m to traffic lights;

  • R onto Old Pacific Highway for 35.2km, where the Berowra contingent will commence ahead of the marauding/encroaching Peloton opposite Berowra station from 8:40am, for 1st Nosh Stop (from 9:50am for 30 min) at Mt White Village Store.  Under new management the Segafredo Zanetti café is heap plenty better than under the previous management.

 

2nd Leg: Mt White to Somersby General Store - 24.5km (60km) - 70 min

9:20am -

  • Nth up Old Pacific H'way for 6.2km to Calga Interchange

  • R twds Gosford along the "Scenic Route" for 4.3km to Mooney Mooney Creek

  • Ahead uphill for 6.5km to "Wisemans Ferry / Gosford Roundabout" for Sag Stop (5 min) off-the-road

  • L into Wisemans Ferry Rd for 7.5km to Somersby General Store (4372.1269ph) for a 2nd Nosh Stop (from 11:30am for 30 min) - good burgers.

 

3rd Leg: Somersby General Store to Peats Ridge - 9.5km (70km) - 25 min

12pm -

 

  • L along Wisemans Ferry Rd for 200m

  • L down "on-ramp" along Peats Ridge Rd for 9.3km to MidCoast Petroleum for Sag Stop [10 min] from 12:25pm.

 

4th Leg: Peats Ridge to Mt White - 20.6km (90km) - 50 min

12:35pm -

  • Sth down Peats Ridge Rd for 14.5km to Calga Interchange

  • L (at "Scenic Road" sign to Brooklyn) and continue 6.1km returning to Mt White Village Store for Sag Stop [5 min] from 1:25pm.

 

5th Leg: Mt White to Pie in the Sky - 16.1km (106km) - 41 min

1:35pm descend Old Pacific H'way, cross Brooklyn Bridge over Hawkesbury River, pass Brooklyn Rd [103km] and ascend 3.9km for 3rd Nosh Stop at Pie in the Sky [20 min] from 2:15pm.

 

6th Leg: Pie in the Sky to Hornsby - 19.3km (125.5km) - 55 min

2:35pm Sth down Old Pacific H'way -

  • pass Berowra [115km] around 3:05pm, and

  • return to Hornsby, taking R fork at Asquith, continuing along Old Pacific H'way [125.5km] at 3:40pm.

 

Scribe's non rap-up of Sunday, 10 Aug, annual City to Surf day, Cinque Montagnes - 100km - 11 cyclists

Samurai, Pacific, Whippet, Arno, Simon, Scribe, Rocket Ros, Senorita, BigGears, and others enjoyed a hilly 100km ride.  Bank Teller took some colourful pics from PitS which included two prospective Muggs in another Katrina and another Phil.  But alas, Teller accidentally deleted the jpgs whilst downloading 'em.
