Re your below email.

I commit to riding with you in September for part of the climb schedule.

The mountains in your schedule represent some of the most famous climbs in the Rhone Alpes and Provence-
Alpes-Cote d'Azur regions. Having ridden some of these mountains, also in September of past years, makes me very keen to ride again and/or tackle for the first time some of these beautiful mountains.  So I look forward to accompanying you for some of these challenging and satisfying well known climbs. As per my own experience September is a very good time for some alpine exercise. The weather is generally very good and the other piece of good news is there will not be too many tourists around any more.

I look forward to meeting up with you in France this September!

Cheers

Eric

Eric

Thanks for all your assistance in reviewing my data over the last week, and when I built the ‘bare bones’ a year ago, when I didn’t progress it then as I expected to be in Canada when it was scheduled for 2011.

I will again be cycling with my daughter in Canada this late Aug, and then fly to France for a train to Grenoble, Lyon by Wed, 5 Sept.

I am happy with Tour de Conquer - France Cycle Tour 2012 which is accessible from the antepenultimate URL on upper LHS of Rides Stuff.

My attached S/S is invaluable in cross checking all my distance, gradient and ride finish times which I then paste to the attached ‘Daily Climbs Schedule.htm’ file.

As mentioned, I expect to attract about 15 starters from mates/associates/my nephew David - in Sydney, Surfers Paradise, Wellington NZ and the USA (Tucson Az., Rochester Mi.), whom I have all previously ridden with in the past.

Most Committed Climb Participants will not come from amongst the current riders amongst Muggaccinos.

The reason for my optimism to attract others is that –

1.    I have kept some of them abreast and they are keen;

2.    The Daily Climbs Schedule is robust and highly time efficient, and contains all the famous climbs in Le Alps and Provence; and

3.    There is ‘no middle man taking a cut’, as each Committed Climb Participants will book his/her own –

a)    flight (by end March to obtain cheapest flights) from the Flight Specials listed in the Tour de Conquer Bullsheet;

b)      train fares to Grenoble and from Avignon station - 67km from Sault; and

c)      hotels in our 3 x Base Camps at Saint Jean de Maurienne, Le Bourg d'Oisan and Sault.
The only cost-sharing will be to hire vans with bike racks in Grenoble and return them in Avignon (67km from Sault).

I still have to finalise details of –

·         bike rental shops in our three Base Camps which rent top quality triple chain ring bikes for between Euro 40 and Euro 45 per day; and

·         van rentals with multiple bike racks in Grenoble.
