16.(e)   Format of the Research Programme

1.         Section 16(c) notes the -

(i)          Research Programme Team would invite members of a specific Industry Group (possibly NSW Nurses' Association) to apply to be 25 of the 50 Volunteers of the Research Programme - see Draft Poster based on inviting Nurses and midwives; and

(ii)        The Writer, if appointed the Head Consultant for the Pilot, Research Programme and Conditions Precedent to Propagation would seek to work with the Research programme Team to procure 25 other Volunteers from amongst the Disadvantaged and Disabled for the Research Programme. 

Section 17 notes the 9 month Research Programme Budget includes a provision of -

             A.        $35,000 (item 7) to purchase 50 road bicycles 'in bulk' -

             (i)         as an inducement to become a Volunteer; and

             (ii)        as compensation to each Volunteer providing data for the Initial Lifestyle Behaviour Evaluation Of Each Volunteer and attending the Health Assessment Appointment and completing Four Hypothesis Test Reports,

             whereupon the Volunteer may retain their bicycle as their own personal property.

B.        $5,000 (item 8) to pay a notional $100 'Success Fee' (in arrears) to the 5 Selected Recreational Road Cycle Groups as an inducement to encourage each Volunteer to stick with the programme and submits the 4 Hypothesis Test Reports.

2.          In order to test the Hypothesis' scope to Empowers Adults To Better Control Their Stress Responses by rekindling Youthful Exuberance to succeed in new, Challenging, physical environs in their District Recreational Exercise Group amidst a Common Bond Support Group, as well as commit to attempt Two Legendary Endurance Cycling Challenges which hardens resolve, improves self-confidence and raise aspirations/contentment, at least 50% of the Volunteers would need to presently be taking some anti-depressant medication which would remain confidential to the Research Programme Team, as explained in Section 16.(d), unless a Volunteer disclosed that information to another cyclist(s) or signed a release for their Segment #6 - Coping Skills data to be released.  The remaining 50% of Volunteers would be -

             *        overweight; and/or

             *        over reliant on Recreational Drug Use; and/or

             *        Disabled or Disadvantaged.

3.         All Volunteers would have to want to become a Recreational Road Cyclist with one of the 5 Selected District Recreational Road Cycling Groups as explained in Section 16.(f).

 

4.         Volunteers who committed to join one of the 5 Selected District Recreational Road Cycling Groups would need to -

  (a)      have the goal of completing 50km rides within 1 month and 100km rides within 2 months of being provided with a road bicycle by the Head Consultant For Pilot and Research Programme (nee the Writer); and

  (b)      agree to attempt to complete, within the 9 months Research Programme, Two Legendary Endurance Cycling Challenges.

 The Pilot Budget contains $250,000 contingency for non stipulated costs.  It may be necessary to pay for gym membership for some of the 25 Disadvantaged or Disabled Volunteers at least for the initial 3 months to enable them to attend spin classes to build up their cycling, albeit on a stationary bike.

  Nurses who enquire about becoming a Volunteer who did not want to commit to attempt Two Legendary Endurance Cycling Challenges, could still join one of 5 Selected District Recreational Road Cycling Groups.  However, they could not be included as a Volunteer to test the Hypothesis.
