Rectifying A Cycling Hazard or Rectification means the appropriate Roads Authority -

(a)        receiving an automated e-mail notification with a URL to the Logged Safety Related Report which details the Cycling Hazard on Safety First Cycling Website

(b)        reviewing (a) above as required under section 45 "Special non-feasance protection for roads authorities" of Part 5 of Civil Liability Amendment (Personal Responsibility) Bill 2002 (for NSW);

(c)        physically inspecting the Cycling Hazard;

(d)        preparing a written report covering inter alia the -

(i)         forecast frequency of the Cycling Hazard causing a Serious Cycling Accident and the range of remedial health costs; and

(ii)        potential health costs over a 12 months period by multiplying the forecast frequency of a Serious Cycling Accident and forecast remedial health cost range;

(e)        prioritising -
(i)         either installation of a Dedicated Cycling Blackspot Warning Sign; and/or

(ii)        reducing the danger of the Cycling Hazard by repairing the Deteriorated Road Section or  Unexpected Imminent Cycling Risk, known as Cycling Blackspot, by for example increasing a road camber, widening a road section, resurfacing a slippery bend, and/or straightening a road bend; and

(f)        completing (e)(i) or (e)(ii) above.
