In the short term, market forces are unlikely to increase the cost of energy - 80% from Fossil Fuels - to its true cost upon the atmosphere' through the introduction of carbon taxes, although the sooner the better. * Seemingly Homo sapiens descended from East Africa 65,000 approx. years ago. Until very recently, unless man hunted or farmed man died. Both required lots of regular exercise. Modern life is foreign to homo sapiens and has created inter alia Fifteen Problems which are exceedingly costly. * Throughout the 20th Century marketing gurus funded by private enterprise and promulgated under the 5th Guidance Influence have created a consumption driven materialistic society, known as Economic Materialism which excessively burnt Fossil Fuels to produce planes, trains, automobiles, ocean liners, central heating, A/C, Plasma TVs etc. These don't keep you fit, healthy nor strong in both mind and body. * Most in the work force sit up to 10 hours a day pressing pieces of plastic and talking into other pieces of plastic Advertising then tells us to go to a gym and run on a treadmill or an exercise bike in limited leisure time. * Humans only change their priorities when they want to change them or are fearful of the consequences (ie. breathalysers reduce drink driving, radar speed devices reduce road fatalities, "Smoking Kills" warnings have reduced cigarette smoking). * Our kids "transfixed to Play Stations" is a recent phenomena. Human need to re-ignite Youthful Exuberance - "old fashioned childhood priorities" of joyfully playing outside with your mates with unbounding energy - riding bicycles, trekking through the forest, hiking, rowing and swimming laps in the local pool, oceans and rivers, whereupon Australians will want to reduce energy consumption intent upon protecting their outdoor playgrounds. THE SOLUTION: Simple, fast, cheap which focuses on the fun and availability of enjoyable exercise within a competitive, ego driven enticement pitch using the Internet * Ecologically Sustainable Developments where Australian Interested Adults Materially Alter Lifestyle to leave a small Personal Carbon Footprint will only be achieved if Australians are shown that REA Is Fun & Addictive playing in the great outdoors in a LCCBSG, and how easy peasy it is to enjoy natural exercise - the stuff older folk did as kids with unbridled enthusiasm. * Sydney has a myriad of roads around its bushland perimeter which thousands of Cyclists enjoy cycling on weekends, particularly on Sunday mornings. The road infrastructure for an Annual Cycling King of the Mountain Challenge Series climbing 3 KOM Climbs north of Hornsby, is already in existence. In fact, rollout of the Annual King of the Mountain Challenge Cycling Series to 6 other Australian capital cities, and up to 50 large cities across the globe by end-2012, doesn't require any explicit infrastructure expenditure. * Similar annual sporting events for selected RREAs and MREAs where our health authorities award the best across Age Divisions, for both Abled and Disabled, can be structured in Annual Challenge Series Competitions. |
