4.(b)     Youthful Exuberance to explore new aspects of life in the great outdoors with childhood mates was, until the turn of the 21st century, a significant confidence builder in human's physiological development, which most adults lose due to Seven Lifestyle Behavioural Influences

The Youthful Exuberance Theme is the ideal 'Hot Button' to imbue confidence that commencing a REA is within the scope of most Interested Adults

For all but the last scintilla of humans' 2.3m years occupation on terra firma, over 99% of humans burned many more kilojoules than current humans' present Lifestyle Behaviour.  If humans did not hunt, till fields or gather food, they starved to death.  A lot of hunting was done by running down animals that were faster over short distances but didn't possess the endurance of man "the hunter".  Or humans farmed to grow crops which was highly labour intensive Consequently, humans were exceedingly fit or they died, and humans needed to have the confidence and experience to extend their boundaries.

Homo Sapiens descended from East Africa 65,000 circa years ago, replacing populations of Homo erectus in Asia and Homo neanderthalensis in Europe.  Until very recently, unless humans hunted or farmed/gathered, they died.  These required lots of regular exercise.  Some hunting was done by throwing a spear, firing an arrow or using a net.  However, a lot of hunting was performed by Homo Sapiens running down faster prey.  Whilst Homo Sapiens was generally slower runners than the faster prey they hunted, Homo Sapiens often out-endured their prey to eventually catch and kill it

Hence, present Lifestyle Behaviour -

(a)        is foreign to approx. one hundred twenty five thousand years of Homo Sapiens occupation of Earth and a few million years of early species of humans; and

(b)        has created inter alia Fifteen Problems with Adverse Costs >$155b annually as quantified at Negligent Lifestyle Annual Costs.

As kids many of us loved to explore the great outdoors with our mates.  On school holidays some did so from sunup to sunset.

Scientist, Kim A. McDonald's, paper "The Secrets of Animal Play" insights the function of youthful frolic.  Such Youthful Exuberance is not unusual among social mammals.  From human children to monkeys, whales, and sewer rats, many groups of mammals and even some birds devote a significant part of their youth to various forms of frolicsome play.  For example, chimpanzees enjoy tickling each other and putting bags over their heads in a version of blindman's buff.  Goats, lambs, and big-horn sheep often leap, twist their bodies, and kick for no apparent reason.  Young deer and antelope engage in games of tag, chasing and fleeing.

Starting off virtually immobile and defenceless, young children spend their waking hours pushing against their limits and limitations.  They grasp, reach, roll over, crawl, stand, walk, climb stairs, run, and quickly gain an array of physical skills (an elaborate inner support system) to confront and master their environment.  If you don’t crawl, you’ll never stand; if you don’t stand, you’ll never walk; if you don’t walk, you’ll never run; if you don’t run, you’ll rarely succeed to a successful, satisfying life.

Prior to his teenage years, the Business Plan Developer recalls -

a)        crawling through stormwater drains with his neighbourhood playmates;

b)        packing gunpowder from "bungers" into a shoe polish tin to blow up a letter box; and

c)        firing stones with a 'V slingshot' (since banned from sale) powered by two rubber bands.

The joyously unrestrained enthusiasm for life, unbridled energy for random unpredictability, known as Youthful Exuberance, to discover oneself and push the envelope beyond the boundaries set by one's parents, to discover new nature frontiers in the great outdoors with childhood mates, was, until approaching the turn of the 21st century, a significant confidence building and physiological development process for young humans, albeit sometimes fraught with danger.

Whilst the above-mentioned social mammals lose some of its appeal for kicking up their heels, humans traditionally lose more of those skills than other mammals who retain things that learnt from exploring behaviour for hunting and surviving.  Other mammals generally do not waste precious skills and invested effort, as humans do. Or if they do extinction may follow.

Youthful Exuberance usually occurs from the later stages of early childhood (3 to 8 years old), through middle childhood (9 to 11 years old) and into the early stages of adolescence (12 to 18 years old).

Physiological decline occurs upon a pronounced change in lifestyle -

*        from one largely reliant on stimulus

*        to one that is regimented due to Seven Lifestyle Behavioural Influences.

Humans are capable of continuing to add to their physiological capabilities for many more years, or at least achieve a balance that makes full use of their innate potential commensurate with the amount of time and resources that have gone into creating those health and physical performance functions.  Pat Farmer and Tony Abbott are two who have blended both.

Humans are hardwired to respond to the varied stimuli within their environment.  Trapped in an un-Challenging Lifestyle Behaviour which encompass only a relatively few demands upon their stimuli, where those demands are repeated over and over again, humans' physical and mental capabilities can not realise their full potential.  In addition, increasing physical strength enhances mental capabilities in most adults.  A recent review led by exercise scientist, Stewart Trost, has identified behavioural studies on the correlates of physical activity participation which show that confidence about being physically active, plus social norms about physical activity, are both strongly associated with adults being active (Trost, Owen, Bauman, Sallis & Brown, 2002).

At an early age, most children are bombarded with environmental stimuli, and so they grow.  Most modern adults, particularly city dwellers, are not, and so they stop growing and start physically ageing long before they need to. They quickly start to violate the 8 laws of physical health that Peter Egoscue, San Diego California, contends are vital for all life.  Pete Egoscue is the author of Pain Free to treat musculoskeletal pain without drugs, surgery, or manipulation.

Peter Egoscue also wrote "The Egoscue Method of Health Through Motion: Revolutionary Program That Lets You Rediscover the Body's Power to Rejuvenate It" .

In an I.T. driven world of constant change amidst the influences of Gen Y, many Australians will be forced to vary not just their jobs but their careers more than a few times in their lifetimes.  For Gen Y who find change difficult, this may be stressful.  Introducing a RREA which regularly explores new outdoor environs will help Interested Adults mentally, emotionally, and physically let go of some facets of their Lifestyle Behaviour.  By reigniting the Youthful Exuberance that they learnt as kids, Interested Adults will be better equipped to accept the changes that Fifteen Problems present, not only less stressfully, but with an adventurous anticipation to discover new nature frontiers in a LCCBSG, just like when they were kids.

In summary, Seven Lifestyle Behavioural Influences -

A.         thwart the natural instinct of Youthful Exuberance to explore and discover in the great outdoors, that most social mammals experience and that mans' predecessors used to develop their adult life as a hunter, farmer or scavenger; and

B.         dominate modern life and materially mitigate humans capacity to maximise performance and Lifestyle Behaviour

In the same manner that one, who has cycled a bicycle or ridden a horse, retains the confidence to get back on a bicycle or another horse, the growth and confidence that was gained from Youthful Exuberance can be re-ignited in the Target Age Groups for Rigorous and Moderate Recreational Exercise Activities, even amongst the elderly in the concept of sprightliness, to instil confidence to recommence enjoyable outdoor exercise which will Compress Morbidity

The modus operandi of adopting a Youthful Exuberance Theme is to draw on the skills learned as an adolescent during Youthful Exuberance, coupled with the assistance of a REC, to join a LDREG under the Optimum, Uniform Delivery Model, to enthuse millions of Australians that a Local Community Healthy Lifestyle is attainable and enjoyable.

Below are URLs to recent newspaper articles which refer to Youthful Exuberance which collectively establish that readers relate Youthful Exuberance to the three below positive attributes:

Hence, the Youthful Exuberance Theme is the ideal 'Hot Button' to imbue confidence to maximise enthusiasm amongst Interested Adults.
